Although it is difficult to find the right words to communicate to their children a diagnosis of cancer, several studies show how important this is. Children, in fact, although very young, perceive the changes, including the suffering of the parents and the whole family. To help parents manage the communication of the disease to their children is being implemented an information leaflet, entitled “The children want to know,” a practical guide to which patients can refer to address this very difficult time, which will be freely distributed nationwide. Provide adequate information on what is happening allows children to understand, and to feel understood and comforted in their suffering. The preface guidance booklet was edited by Dr. Marina Bertolotti, National Executive Council SIPO, National Coordinator Group Psychosocial AIEOP.
